You'll need to build up stamina by doing shuttle runs. Soccer is a sport that is made up of a lot of short sprints and stops and starts. I would suggest doing 40 yard shuttle runs, up back and through, so a total of 120 yards with each sprint, three sets of 5 to start and then build up the reps. Make sure you are warmed up before you start sprinting and also cool down afterwards with a short jog and stretching. Overall, the best way to get in shape for soccer is to play, whether it's on your own juggling and dribbling or small sided games or actual eleven versus eleven games, just play all the time.

You want to work on 100 yrd dash speed, and on 1 mile time. Do wind sprints and run a mile every 3 days, timing yourself. You want to do the mile in 6 min or under.

For the first 2 or 3 weeks build up endurance and core strength.
Next, run ...a LOT!
Also work on agility.
Take your ball with you everywhere you can!!It's your best buddy!
Make sure you don't overwork, if you hurt anything give it rest and ice, drink lots of water and eat right-lots of carbs!

i play soccer too and to get me in shape, i do windsprints. i also run on the treadmill and work on strength training, such as lifting, sit-ups and pull ups, and a bunch of other stuff. good luck!
