Whoever says Kerry King cant play guitar is an idiot who doesnt really appreciate what he does. He was sloppy in his early years with Slayer, but right when Seasons In the Abyss came out, he had alot more control of his playing, and its amazing. He is one of those players who can make you feel something with his solos and at the same time play 200 notes at a time with the solo. Some players play those 200 note solos (Van halen) and some play solos to make you feel something (Daron malakian); kerry king can do both in my opinion.

Sloppy yes...but John Petrucci type solo's wouldn't fit in SLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAYER!!!

I have to agree with the answer above me. You really can't compare them. One plays thrash metal, and the other plays blues rock. There's talent on either side, obviously. But Clapton is one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time. Without players like him, bands like Slayer wouldn't have a clue where to begin. I went through a serious metal phase and liked Slayer a lot. So I also appreciate King's talent and give him props where it is due. lol @Melting Media. Never knew that! @AG-- you're not alone there. I've always said it- Clapton's a tad overrated when it comes to guitar all-around skill. Influential? Obviously. Original? Meh...

I know I can. He's fast, thats it. His lead is weak and sloppy; he relies on his tremolo to make up for his lack of skill and technicality.
