liberalism in general is the biggest threat to this great nation.

In my own personal opinion, the downfall of this country will come from self-centeredness. The only thing any president worries about is doing what they need to for the people who backed them financially during the elections and getting re-elected.

Now, when those financial backers are companies who only care about money and do not have the best interest of this great nation at heart, we are in trouble.

Also, as it is now, we are more worried about solving the problem of other countries than we are about solving the problems we have right here at home.

I've been a republican all my life but am seriously contemplating changing to an Independant.

Anyway, that is my political rant for the day.

I'm not really convinced that building schools is newsworthy. As I hear it, the US after spending the 20billion on something, is not giving any more significant aid to the Iraqis to rebuild.

And besides, there were plenty of schools before the US bombed them down...

If you want to take control of the media and stop publishing things that people want to hear and start publishing the truth, then you'd be a socialist- you'd become more liberal than the liberals... :P

An Republican who supports the market based economy in everything should only be glad that the press has evolved to the point where it adheres only to profit. I mean, that is the view of the current administration, in theory (that is, when it fits them).

I agree with the above answer. But in particular the "media" branch of liberalism will help cause the downfall because it is the free advertising they need to spead like a virus. But I believe the liberal media will cause the downfall because it forces "softness" on everybody. That softness will make the country weak enough to lose badly in the inevitable invasion and take-over.

Thank God for FoxNews. They are the savior of the USA if you ask me.

Maybe, but do the conservatives really care about the downfall of our country? I mean, as long as we rebuild Iraq, that's what matters, right?

Yes! "Liberal" everything is already getting the best of us. Our downfall will be and is Liberals and Politcal Correctness.

It's already destroying us.

There are thousands of positive stories in Iraq. We're rebuilding hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. Saddam and his sons were a psychopaths who got their jollies through other people's pain and suffering. We took them out of power and freed millions of people, but you don't hear about that on the news, do you?

They also try to sway elections. CBS puts out a story that they KNOW is untrue right before a presidential election. They give huge press to embarrassing things Republicans do, and try to explain away the crimes of the Democrats.

No country can survive a one-sided media.

God bless talk radio! Finally the conservatives have some voice out there.

They will be the downfall and they will be the first to fall. Can you imagine Hillary Clinton, once she solidifies her power, will allow anyone to criticize her?

But then again, the media wouldn't criticize her. But if they would start, they would seal their own fate.

Yeah, truth and reality has a way of destroying countries, especially when that country has an ideology that's been rejected by 70% of the people.

I don't think the media is either liberal or conservative. So the answer is no. They just report the news.
