If you are using XP then go to "C:\Documents and Settings\User**\Recent\" delete all the files present here. i am assuming that c:\windows is your default windows directory. User** is to be replaced by the username of your computer.

For other version of windows it is c:\windows\recent\

Right click on the START and select properties,
select customize, select advance, you will see recent documents header and with it you will see "clear list" button. Click on it and it will clear all your recently opened documents. If you don't want recently opened document list, see on the left hand side a check box ticked, untick it.

Right click the start bar (not the start button) and choose properties

In properties choose the Start Menu Tab and click the customize button

Click the clear button.

If you to to the tools menu, and then scroll down to "internet options," you will have to option to delet your viewing history.
