I will say this...I was six years old the year Sesame Street came out and my mother and I watched it everyday. I was the top student in my grammar school, did exceptionally well in High School, and attended two of the top colleges in my city. I also read extremely well as a child.....I would say Sesame Street helped me (and my daughter) to learn to enjoy learning.

regardless of the undeniable fact that i'm in basic terms 17, I did watch the Sesame highway of the 70s and 80s (we watched reruns, plus we rented/owned infinite tapes), and that i ought to declare i'm appalled through the present teach. I nonetheless love previous Sesame highway (I own volume a million of the "Sesame highway previous college" DVDs, and volume 2 is on my Christmas checklist), and it makes me unhappy to work out the hot teach. Please, somebody clarify to me why Elmo is now the only character and the teach specializes in no longer something yet healthful nutrition and exercising. (i understand everybody is going to declare youngsters desire instructions in that during recent times, yet this isn't any excuse to thoroughly do away with the skits approximately counting, the alphabet, life instructions, and so on.) surely, the 70s teach had great humour, the 80s teach had most of the final music i've got ever heard, the early 90s reran the final skits of the two, and now... uhh, what good is there to declare? i'm very in touch for this technology of anklebiters; youngsters' television is greater screwed up than ever in the previous in historic past. while Jim Henson died, Sesame highway died genuine alongside with him... long stay Oscar, who's (grew to become into? he isn't on the teach anymore...) no longer "depressed"!

Yes they do. I have raised 3 children and all of them watched. To
this day at their age (21,19,17) they can still recite ferom the show. When all of them started kindergarten they knew all of the
basics, spoke a little spanish, knew their colors as well as
spelling some. My oldest was able to move up a grade from 1st
to second.
