ILLEGAL - it MUST STOP
We have to close our borders and make EVERYONE go through proper channels.

I would like to send any illegals we find BACK to their country and let them apply for entry by the rules.

I agree. The problem is "what?".

Deportation is expensive. Most estimates show 10-15 million illegal immigrants. Double that to include all the people who end up being caught that are not illegal. Let's say 25 million, total. 5th Amendment Due Process requirements, and current laws, require a hearing before deportation. 6th Amendment requirements mean an appointed attorney. If the process were streamlined (10 minutes per case, 200 cases per week) we would be able to deport about 10,000 per year, per court. So, we would tie the courts up for years and pay billions of dollars just to deal with the ones we have now.

I agree that we must close the borders. The bigger problem is -how do we deal with the ones that are already here? My solution would be to arrest them and force them to either take a mandatory citizenship course (and pass), or force them to return home at their expense.

I don't like the "amnesty" idea lawmakers are pushing because it rewards illegal behavior. Illegal behavior needs to be punished.

Of course, another solution is to punish those who are hiring these illegal immigrants. Mandatory fines and jail time should do the trick. Don't expect to see many Democrats or Republicans jumping on this bandwagon, though, because it would compromise their ability ot raise campaign funds from these employers.

Illegal immigration is a red herring and will not be stopped.

We live in a very capitalist society, and corporations and business have more sway than individuals. Corporations and businesses want cheap labor from illegal immigrants, so there will be illegal immigrants. Until you decide to take power away from corporations and lobbyists, you're whining into a void.

The immigrants only come because they know they'll be hired. They'll be hired because the corporations are not held accountable. I find it ironic that people who whine about immigration are the same people who support corporate offenders with their money. If you spend money at Walmart, or any other of a number of corporations, you're supporting illegal immigration.

People agree. Political parties will agree that we must look into illegal immigration but probably should not attempt any serious legislation until closer to the next election so that they can campaign on it to maintain or regain power. Of course, neither party wants to do anything that might make the other party look good - even if it is in the best interest of the nation. Until we get over that bump in the road, look for things to only get worse.

Remember this when BOTH the dems and the repubs sell our country out as they are planning as I type this. Remember this, when John McCain, the next rebpulicrat presidential nominee, pushes his immigrant legalization bills through the senate and house. It won't stop because the politicians are and haven't been representing you - they represent special interests including businesses who want cheap labor and flaming liberals who thinks it's morally wrong to turn people back. Despite what the vast majority of this country's people want (tougher enforcement of laws, and increased border security) the ruling classes will pass "amnesty" bills and fast track citizenship laws and thus opening the gates to massive, legal immigration from Mexico and other third world countries.

A refreshingly decent BNP supporter! Yea, i can totally sympathise with the individual cases and i cant stand the ignorant morons who say 'line them up against a wall and shoot them' or something equally as moronic. We need to find the people at the top of these gangs who are ususally from bangladesh or somewhere and are well established in the uk. Its not just about stopping all the immigrants getting over here but finding out that many people already here are helping them.

NO

What about those poor Scandinavians that INS will not allow in America???

My brother in Law married a girl from Norway and she is denied both citizenship and extended visa's. INS claims she is a nurse, and America has no quota or need for more nurses.

My thought is we have a quota for guy to stand in front of Home Depot.

I have no reason to expect that anyone here illegally is working . If they are and more continue to cross the border then it is the supply of ready jobs provided by greedy employers who seek to profit from cheap labor destroying our economy and should be held as traitors seeing as how we are in a time of war .

Two reasons it won't happen
Big business loves cheap labor (so does small business)
We are now part of the SPP, which basically makes Mexico, Canada and US one country.

This shouldn't be along party lines. The issue is our Country and our citizens. For too long others have conveniently let this happen, it is now time to address this.
