Stockings are always more classy looking than bare legs or pantyhose, which are always thick and baggy. The interviewer will never know if you wear properly fitting clothes, they will just make you look mor dressed and classic.
I am still in school, and hold a job in a law office after school and on Saturdays mornings, and I always wear stockings and a garter belt, and the women are always asking me where I get the smart looking "Pantyhose" I tell them the name of the website where I buy all my stockings stockingstore .com and that is it.
Your BF wants you to wear them as a sex object for him, and that is totally the wrong idea just like half the people answering. you. They go to work dressed sloppy, because they can't stand to wear pantyhose 10 hours a day, and complain when the smarter dressed women get the promotion. When is the last time you saw your male boss dressed in sandals and bare feet?

Good grief woman! Just do whatever you want to do....if wearing stockings and suspenders gives you an edge and makes you feel more confident and super sexy...then go for it!
Unless you do a 'Sharon Stone' at the interview - no-one need ever know...including your boyfriend....besides he should be looking at it as 'a nice surprise' when you get back from said interview!!
Women should do whatever makes them feel their best....be confident and be sexy with it....if you're being interviewed by a man...you'll have him over a barrell (not literally of course!!!)
Good luck!
P.S. tights are unhygenic and totally unsexy!! Wear hold ups if you prefer to avoid a suspender belt.

Are you planning on working in a strip show? Because in today's interview market, anything that can be seen as a come-on to the interviewer is an instant drop. Employers don't want that kind of stuff in their work environment, because what you say when you wear that stuff is that you are "available" to whatever/whomever happens along, even if the interviewer can only see the outline of it. Its the suggestion of work misbehavior. That is why your b/f is so upset. Believe your b/f, because by insisting on this, you are hurting his feelings.

Definitely wear them. Unless of course ur intending on flashing them at your perspective employer (which would be very nasty) there is nothing wrong with wearing stockings and suspenders.
Would your boyfriend object to you wearing tights?!
They are the same thing, pretty much.
And people saying that they are dated and old fashioned have no idea at all. Stockings and suspenders can be very sophisticated (if not on show and worn with taste), and are very 1950s retro which is so fashionable at the moment.
Ps. any boyfriend that tells you what you can and cant wear is not good. Clearly he is insecure and is trying to control you to keep his jealousy at bay.

What kind of job are you going for??!
If it'll help your image to be seen in them (ie playboy bunny rather than smart PA-type job interview!), then yes (bf doesn't have to know - they're not his legs), or if it'll help your interview performance, then yes - I always feel more confident in my heels for job interviews, so wear what you feel comfortable and powerful in.
So, two things:
1) They could give the wrong impression to a serious employer if you wear them visibly so take care how you wear them.
2) Wear 'em if you want to - your boyfriend has nothing to do with your interview outfit!
Good luck!

If it makes you feel more confident, and there's no way of them being seen, then go ahead. Whatever works for you. I know someone who wore stocking and suspenders to an interview because feeling sexy gave her an added confidence, even if she wasn't trying to convey anything sexual to the interviewer.

What a strange question. If you normally wear them, then why do you ask and what's it got to do with your bf? If you don't, then why on earth would you want to wear them to an interview? I've never yet been to an interview where my undergarments were inspected or enquired after! I think you'll find that provided you don't dress bizarrely, it's your working abilities and personality they're interested in.

30 years ago stockings and suspenders were worn by all women! They are not slutty and you have a right to wear them if you want! Some people have very little minds!

Why do you want to? Save them for another time when you want to feel sexy, you need to feel confident and proffessional at a job interview and not worried about the hooks undoing or anything. It wont help with getting the job. Plus if it will upset your boyf is it worth it?
Second thoughts- if its a ob for a lap dancer or stripper then go ahead! lol
Good luck for the interview

Claire, stockings and suspenders are absolutley fine, as long as you wear a skirt long enough to NOT expose the fact you are wearing them. The interviewers will give you the job on the merit of you being the best candidate with the best ability to do the job, not the girl with long legs and short skirt, exposing her stocking tops.
