Yes Benedryl is safe in the first and second trimesters. You can double check with you OB but in normal pregnancies it is perfectly safe.

I had an allergic reaction to food and called the DR. he said benadryl is safe to take but to go to the ER so I did, and there they gave me benadryl and prednisone (my throat was swelling shut), they said that benadryl is perfectly safe to take during pregnancy and wont hurt the baby at all, it actually made my little man hyper! He was bouncing all around after they gave it to me. This was a week ago today, so it's new info. not old :) I'd call your doctor just in case though... maybe u have special circumstances? (I am 27 weeks Pregnant)

I have been sick through most of my pregnancy. My Dr. approved Benedryl, tylenol, sudifed, and Robitussin for relief the occasional headache, cold or allergy symptoms. You can call your Dr. for his/her opinion but mine said its completely safe.
