Never leave a baby in the bath unattended - EVER. I hope this is a fake question.. If not, you are a total idiot and a pray you consider giving up your poor child for adoption.
O.K.. Sorry, I misunderstood. You're not an idiot. Please forget I ever said that.... I am very touchy when it comes to baby safety.
Here's my answer to your actual question:
I think 7 months is old enough to put her in the bathtub with out the baby bath basin. However, I like to put down one of those squishy bath sponge mats, so it's nice and soft on her and she won't slip.

I actually never used an infant tub. I had a bath seat that had an arm locked over the edge of the tub and could not tip over. She used that until around 8-9 months. Now she just sits in the tub..she is a little over 12 months. As long as you have a good nonskid mat in the bottom she should be able to hold herself steady. They also have covers for the spout that can prevent accidents. If you would rather not get a nonskid mat than you can also put a small towel in the bottom of the tub for her to sit on. Bathtime is funtime at my house. My daughter loves to play in the tub, she has all types of bath toys. I usually take a book and sit on the floor next to the tub. She will play for about 15-20 minutes after she gets washed up and is perfectly content. I also burn a nice candle and just kinda unwind. 7 months is an awesome age..she is getting ready to have a lot of fun. Bathtime is a great time for you to spend time together..we also take a bath together sometimes, she really loves that

No child should be left unsupervised during a bath until at least the age of 5. they can drown almost instantly in less than a half of inch of water.
If you mean giving them a bath in the actual tub without a seat, then around 1-2 years, if they can sit up well without support. But regardless, under no circumstances should they be left alone even for a minute.

You can bathe her anytime. She is sitting up and so can take a bath in the big tub....they have tub rings you can put her into for that...and they work great. Never ever leave her unassissted in it or in the bathtub for even a minute. My brother was bathed only with adult supervision for the first four years of his life and then he would only be left alone for a minute or two at the most.

I stopped using the infant tub when my baby could sit by herself. Get a bath ring, they're really great.
When my daughter was 1 year, I started putting her in the tub without the ring. She does just fine but still hates having her hair rinsed.

They make these great child seats that sit in the big tub and support the baby. She has to be able to sit up by herself (Well!) I think you freaked some people out, but they didn't realize you meant without an infant tub. you can find these seats at babies r us and target. I still had to assist my daughter at first and I put a washcloth under her bum so she wouldn't slip. She will be able to go without a seat in the tub when she can crawl well. Good luck!

As long as she is big enough, now would be fine without the infant tub (the reccomendations are infant tub until about six months of age, depending on size). As long as you are holding her out of the water and you only put a couple of inches of water in the bathtub.

Oh - in the infant tub. Whew! There are infant seats for children a bit older. Once her feet are out of the edge of the little infant tub, I think it's time to move on.

The first and most important rule is this: Never, ever leave your child unsupervised, even for a minute. Children can drown in less than an inch of water. If the doorbell peals or the phone rings, and you feel you must answer it, scoop your child up in a towel and take him with you. * Don't put your child into a tub when the water is still running (the water temperature could change or the water could get too deep).

I never really did the infant tub, my kids all hated it. Once they started learning to sit up, I bought a tub seat. It has sides to help support the child, but still gives freedom of movement. Once they could sit up well (in everyday situations) I took the tub seat away. So if not now, soon. Just watch her progress with balancing. You might try her now, just keep a hand on her in case she starts to tip to one side. Even after 9 months, mine would tip over sometimes if they got too excited splashing. So just be ready to catch her, but its probably safe to try now. If you don't have any yet, now would be a fun time to introduce bathtub toys too.

My son is 14 months and still in an infant tub, but it's a stages tub so theres an insert in it that he can use to sit up himslelf and I don't have to worry about him slipping. Of course I'm always there with in reach.
