It all depends..Rainbows are made of the light spectrum and Light is energy therefore isn't it living??? Some think that all things have energy or Chi...I would agree....some say humans are made from planet dust. All things have a life force.

A rainbow is "one of the most spectacular light shows observed on earth". Indeed the traditional rainbow is sunlight spread out into its spectrum of colors and diverted to the eye of the observer by water droplets. The "bow" part of the word describes the fact that the rainbow is a group of nearly circular arcs of color all having a common center.

I think your science education needs a bit of a boost. Remedy: stop watching Big Brother (or anything similar) and spend your time watching science programmes on TV, listening to science progs on Radio 4 (e.g. Material World) and read some science books/magazines/journals for pleasure! Try these two key words: light, refraction. Enjoy yourself.

No.A rainbow is caused when sunlight refracts off rain particles.Living things must conform to specific criteria eg respiration.reproduction,growth etc A rainbow has none of the criteria

A rainbow is an arc of colored light in the sky caused by refraction of the sun's rays by rain... "Colored light" and "light" is not living, sorry.
