Go with DSL.
Accelerated dialup is more or less a marketing ploy. it isn't, but it's not worth taking the time here to explain what it is. Suffice to say that dial up will always be limited by it's method of transfer. That being the phone line, and it will never be faster than about 53 Kbit/second.
What accelerated dialup does is compress the size of the packets coming across the phone line. Surfing would be faster than normal dialup, but streaming video or transferring files won't be any faster than normal dialup.
It still doesn't even come close to the download or upload speeds you will get with DSL. If you can afford the DSL, go with that. Less lag, less interrupts, no problems connecting and the performance between the two don't even compare.

Fast and simple here, a copper wire has so much Watt/Amp and Volts it can carry. Then the OHM fctor comes into play.
If you can make a program that actually alters the Physical Cable then you are a genius. Yes you can write programs that 'tunnel' or 'pipeline' in and around certain sluggish points on a network, but the limitation of Bandwith of the Lines,Transponders, Sattelites, back down to Hardwire and so on, yes you might get 4mbs faster.
The choice for you is can you afford to pay more $ for Inernet, or do yoiu need to.
DSL is great, Cable is a little better, and a T-5 is just ZOOOOOM!

No, accelerated dial up is merely a somewhat faster connection. In any dial up situation, however, your connection speed is only as good as the wires coming into your house. Most accelerated dial ups work no better than regular dial up. DSL is a more direct and more relaibale connection. It is also much faster.
