If I ask a question and get 20 positive, well articulated responses, why do I get perturbed by the one negative response that seems to have been made by a delusional demon? I realize this may be an issue within me that must be fixed; do you have any tips to help me give less value to the comments of the ignorant?

It is human nature to dwell on the responses that are out of the ordinary. Ask yourself, if you got 10 negative and 1 postiive response... then wouldn't you dwell on the positive response?

You can think about the negative response for a while to see if there's any constructive criticism. But after a minute or so of thoughtful consideration, if you can't grow from it..... it's time to get rid of it and move on.

It's easily said, but to rid yourself of negative thoughts is difficult. I try to keep myself busy with the next activity. If you can't kick a negative thought out of your mind, go do something else. cook, do some work, go to another website, just try to keep busy... and the thought will eventually be forgotten.

Digression

Responses that are insensitive and inconsiderate are often based on the Answerer's perspective without foresight and forethought. Prudence dictates that one might not be so quick to dismiss the idea of alternative realities and therefore validity of answer provided.

Alternative realities pertain to one’s outlook on the world is different to another, shaped by their environment; deprived people on the street will seldom have the same sensibilities and rationale as people who are with jobs.

Predominant mannerisms, with personal convenience made possible through the Internet, coaxed on by a point accumulation system with self gratification of airing one’s world views without restraint, sometimes reveal the person and more than the person.

Most do not take the initiative to understand the question, let alone know the context to the world outside of YA. Misery loves company. In light of Internet as the medium to express ideas freely, that alone, generates humour and entertainment from the quandary of commercial requirement compliance with local geographical legislature.

“You”

Rather than to provide a compendium of possible reasons to satiate confounded mind and hurt feelings by through presuming and assuming to know your disposition: Know Thyself.

Certain fundamental truths (Logos: how you define logos in your context. e.g. reason, higher belief..) is said to be found within oneself.

Logos has no fixed abode. The usefulness of the brain cannot be said to be greater than one’s intestines or be more than the parts of the rest of the body. Figuratively, all are of equal importance.

Find this, and you will understand the real purpose, intention and meaning behind your question, and the way you respond to what is perceived as negative or positive response. You might want to contemplate this old story:

A nun asked a high priest: Can you tell me the secret of all secrets (that is, fundamental truth) ?
The priest pinches the shoulder of the nun: There it is !
(Gosh! The priest still habours sexual desire all these years, thought the nun.)
Nun: I am shocked that you still have got that in you.
Priest: Rather it is you who have still got that in you. When the heart is pure, all is pure. When the heart is impure, all is impure.

Whilst the monk was free from sexual desire, the nun thought that he still had it. What was trying to be pointed out was that a fundamental truth can be discovered within herself.

Real intention, sensibilities and so on in looking for an answer is yours and yours alone to know. Having found and realised the source of anguish, one may then decide how best to approach the source of antagonism based on your cultural and natural disposition. Responsibility and onus is on you to live with your decision, no matter the course of action chosen.

Try looking at the humor in the negative answer. I used to frown at other drivers, then I realized I couldn't fix them by being negative so I started to smile which relaxes other drivers, fixing them. That you think negative works better only means that you haven't tried a real positive yet.

It is in a way an escapism. Maybe people are too lazy to get into the things and work at finding the meanings, it's always less painful to be negative about anything.

Powerful negativity sends ripples of bad vibes for those who are sensitive enough, empathic enough to feel them. Its like a wave that rocks a boat. Land animals feel threatened by this but sea-birds just roll with the waves. (I wish I could do that too)

Negativity is the hare, the power of positive thinking is the tortise. Everyone always bets on the hare but don't forget who won.

Fragile egos, my friend. How loosely woven is the fabric of our happiness. A tug or two and it unravels to reveal how empty our everyday lives really are.

I was just thinking about this on my way home from work; the placement of questions. Is there a way to weed out the immature answers to our questions...perhaps they should make a section called "serious only". I've no brilliant suggestions for you.

Souls who are more in tune with a life that exemplifies things like peace, mutual respect, charity, etc. are naturally more sensitive to people/actions/speech that is at the other end of the scale; aggressive, disrespectful, and selfish.

The trick, of course, is trying to not let those negative vibes get to you.

Unfortunately, they're probably always going to be around (people who exhibit a negative spirituality), so it would behoove us to just remember that they walk in darkness, so to speak.

It's not easy....

Tips? Other than just reminding yourself that these people - in spite of their intolerance, hatred, racism, whatever - are more deserving of sympathy than anything else. Lowering ourselves to their level diminishes us and leaves a bad aftertaste, anyway.

The negative it seems to be for growth and to move something along, much like the Autumn day to thought. when the leaf has given of its color and the beauty from within ,and then it must go to come again, somewhat larger than first growth yet, come again it must when the root is still with life. No matter how negative you perceive an answer to be, the source of the negativity comes from within.
