I made up the name Nelaya in my high school days and I think it sounds pretty. Josephine is my mom's name, so I want it as her middle name.

I want Jefferson so I can call my little boy "Jeffy" like in the Family Circle cartoons and my husband's name is Douglas - which I think is a strong name and his middle name is his father's first name, so keeping the tradition.

What do you all think? Good names or do you have any suggestions? Thanks!! :)

Nelaya is ok as far as a madeup name goes. It flows well and rolls off the toungue. Lot of nicknames for it as well. I have actually met a Melaya before. I like Jeffrey better than Jefferson. That sounds too much like a last name. Of course last name as a first is nothing unusual so it's not that bad. Good luck!

I really like Nelaya Josephine
Jefferson Douglas is pretty cool. I believe I had a great uncle who's name may have been Thomas Jefferson Jones and another named George Washington Jones.

I like Nelaya Josephine, but Jefferson Douglas sounds too much like Jefferson Davis, who was president of the confederacy. If you are white and you give your child this name, people might think you are racist. Name him Jeffery Douglas instead. It still can shorten to "Jeffy."

If Neyala goes good with your last name and all, that would be good! It's pretty! Jefferson Douglas sounds like a politician doesn't it? Neat! Vote for Jefferson!

Jefferson Douglas is OK- but Nelaya is not. It might sound cute now, but it won't be when she's 24 and can't find a decent job because of her name.

I LOVE Nelaya Josephine and i deffinatly think you should go with Douglas for the boys middle name to keep with tradition. but i really don't like the name Jefferson and i really don't like the idea of " Jeffy". Instead what about: Xavier { X for short }

----------------------- Nelaya Josephine -----------------------
--------------------- Xavier Douglas -------------------------

i like the sound of that. --- hope this helps. ---

I like Jefferson Douglas, but not sure about Nelaya.

I really like Nevaéh (Ne-vay-uh) which is similar.

Jefferson Douglas sounds preppy
Nelaya sounds too much like Enigma or something like that.
How about "Ella" instead.
