i'm a working laptop or laptop forensics professional for the federal government. here is the undesirable information (and it truly is all undesirable). There are no AV courses that are any stable. Why might I say that. First, via definition, AV courses are reactive, i.e. the truly in easy terms seize undesirable actors as quickly as they have been pointed out. it truly is relatively analogous to biomedical examine on viruses - first you may discover them, and in easy terms then are you able to discover a "treatment". maximum energetic viruses (that's virtually a meaningless term) have not even been pointed out. even nonetheless, the only truly take care of thank you to maintain your "stuff" secure is to encrypt your information (i take advantage of PGP application) and then everybody can "hack" your laptop, however the counsel they get would be ineffective. additionally, shop all your truly deepest stuff, financials, love letters :-) and so on. on a working laptop or laptop that (a million) by no ability gets on the internet (2) shop your stuff encrypted, so as that whether somebody steals your compture, the information would be ineffective (even the U. S. government can not decrypt the information). i'm beneficial that may not the respond you relatively wanted to take heed to, even nonetheless it interior reason precise. And do pass look into PGP application on the internet. It has large "white papers" on secure practices, and so on. Anti-spyware/virus/keylogger/ghost courses in easy terms artwork on the barest minimum of secure practices. desire I helped.

OK first things first. Yes you've downloaded a hijacker. You gotta go into add/remove programs and get rid of the offending program. Next, go to internet options in your control panel. erase all the url's you're not sure of. Say there's one that looks like msn.com but there's a bunch of characters after ".com/". This is a re-director just erase it from the list. (best to just erase the whole list)
Then type in the url of the homepage you really want to go to. i.e. www.yahoo.com.
Restart your PC just to be sure and viola! all done.
In future just be careful what you download and look for those pesky little check boxes that allow them to hijack your homepage.

It's worth getting an expert to check your computer out at:

http://www.webuser.co.uk/forums/ubbthreads.php/Cat/0

Register, go to the Hijack This Forum, read the instructions on how to post a log, give a brief description of your problem (like you've just typed) and post your log there. The guys in there are fantastic and trustworthy and will guide you through in getting rid of anything nasty from your computer.

You must post a HijackThis log as per the instructions, not just your problem.
