I have paid out so much money to work at home jobs, and nothing ever came through for me. I am now taking my tome and searching this thing throughly before I spend any more money.

Don't ever pay money up front for any job. Up front fees are a warning sign for you that the job is not legitamate and that you should start searching elseware. If you hear about a company, check and see if people complain it on some gripe web sites like the www.ripoffreport.com, www.scam.com or quackwatch. Scambusters.org would also be good for you to visit. Also check out this site: http://www.armydiller.com/financial-scam/avoidscam.htm

I would start to rething how you job hunt. Maybe go see a job counselor at your Department of Labor. Also, call up some hr offices for some companies that you would like to work for. Ask if they have telecommuting or know anyone that does.

First you have to have a skill that an employer really needs and wants. Don't look at jobs you obviously can't do with a computer -like fixing broken computers, but at jobs in which you can be effective using one Once you find the opening, understand the expectations, and have an offer in hand - this can be negotiated along with salary, vacations, etc. Remember, this is relatively new. Many employers may have little or no experience with it, and may have to work with their Human Resource Department to make it happen.

You can get in touch with Go Employed - to find legitimate working from home opportunities. This portal is a missing link between the employers and employees.
