Start with a photo page of the parents...possibly on their wedding day. Then a photo page of the mom-to-be and her belly. Next page, showcase the sonogram. Next page the nursery. Next page the baby shower. Then the day of arrival and so on and so forth.

First you want to be sure you have products that will not harm your photos or memoribillia over time. Be sure you are using acid free, lignin free and buffered paper. When inculding memoribilla or artifacts, be sure to put them in photo sleves, not on a page with photos. With the altra sound picture, if you chose to use it, make a copy of it and include the copy in your album, as the original will fade over time.
You will want to scrapbook milestones, the firsts of everything. Try to take a picture of baby all the time and be sure to record whe, where and how old the baby is in the photo. If labeling the bakck of the picture, be sure to use a photo safe labeling pen. Also, scrap pages with your thoughts and feelings, something cute they did that day, special moments, or just a "snapshot of what they are like at that moment in time.

Just a suggestion: Have a home show with a scrapbooking company so you can get some one-to-one guidance and earn some free products. January is a great time for a Get Together, as most home party companies have great specials for the host.
Your consultant with help you choose the basic products to get started and creat a photo safe album that will perserve the past, enrich the present and provide hope for the future. Creative Memories is a great company because their focus is quick and simple. They have kits designed especially for creating a baby album. They also have a great magazine, Lasting Moments. e-mail me, cropwithjulie@hotmail.com, to ask any questions about scrapbooking.

Definitely you want to scrapbook the milestones, the firsts of everything. Try to take a picture of baby religiously every month on the date of his/her birth. In the future you will have an awesome 2 page layout that celebrates your child's growth. Also, scrap pages with your thoughts and feelings, something cute they did that day, special moments, or just a "snapshot of what they are like at that moment in time.
An earlier suggestion to get a scrapbooking magazine for ideas is a great idea. An idea that I have done is I have family scrapbooks and each child has one with just 'their' days and events in them. They will eventually take theirs with them when they leave home.

My BIGGEST suggestion: have a home show with a stamping/scrapbooking company so you can get some one-to-one guidance and earn some free products! Your consultant with help you choose the basic products to get started and how to build from there! Close to my Heart is a great company because their focus is faster...simplier...easier. and they have kits for beginners, and other choices for other levels of experience. I have stamps from other companies but I am now addicted to their Acrylic stamps. And I LOVE their decorative papers! Their catalogs also have alot of ideas, they're like a scrapbooking magazine all on their own! e-mail me at youneedtupperware@prodigy.net anytime to ask any questions about scrapbooking. I don't always have alot to spend on supplies, so I have come up with cheap solutions in the past and I'm happy to share!

first of all you can buy a book to get some ideas. you can get scrapbook sets that come with most of the things you need. collect lots of pictures and make reprints in case something goes wrong. gather scraps of patterned paper, wrapping paper etc to make your pages more attractive. when starting your first page just think what you want to do first and then let your imagination do the rest. don't fill the page with lots of decoration keep the pages simple and pretty. you could put stuff like how much they weigh at birth, color of eyes and hair, time of birth, day of birth, what there name means etc. just go for it. you'll do great. check this website for ideas http://www.simplescrapbooksmag.com
enjoy!

First, have lots of extra photos printed (if you have a digital camera, you can order some online for like $.12 each.) Get lots of baby stickers and letter stickers. I would put things like maybe a copy of those footprints they give you in the hospital. For mine, I put my Gerber baby certificate they sent me with my son's life insurance policy. You can also have baby certificates printed up I'm sure, they also offered cute ones at the hospital. Maybe hospital bracelets, baby shower invitation and list of who got what for the baby. Also if you like, there are many computer programs out there you can make scrapbooks on, I got one from Hallmark. I think you can print out pages, then you could put some of the pages in your book to make it look more professional. Hope this helped!
