We're no more preoccupied with it than anyone else, we're just more honest about it.

How are we so occupied with violence? Because of the movies we watch? Look at the other countries like coutries in africa, or the middle east, kids walk around with AK47's. There are alot of known murders in the U.S. but its because they are all documented. Third world countries don't even bother keeping track. The world is a violent place, and nothing has changed. The romans, played sports to the death....Thats violent, if you ask me the world has becomes less violent or at least stayed the same. I guess its just an opinion or the shows you watch, or how much NEWS YOU WATCH. THE MEDIA KILLS THIS COUNTRY.

People will listen to violence. People can ignore diplomacy and statesmanship. This doesn't just go for the US either.
