No, King Rama IX, who celebrated his 60th year as king in 2006, is not a god. He is a Buddhist, a very devout Buddhist, and he is so deeply loved by all Thai people that they venerate him and honor him like all other heads-of-state can only wish they could be venerated and honored. His entire reign has been dedicated to the well-being and happiness of his people. And every Thai person I have ever met is grateful for this truly enlightened and wise monarch from the bottom of their hearts. If you come to Thailand, you will sense very quickly the depth of love for him everywhere here.

The Thai,s treat him as almost a god, his picture is all over the place but he was born in Massachusets.not heaven.
