I want to transfer about 200 songs from a friends itunes onto my ipod without deleting the songs already in my ipod. I have tried to export and import the playlist but no songs are transferred. Can I put them straight on my ipod?

No. The only way to do this will be to take a copy of the songs you need from his computer (the actual MP3 files). Then put them on your computer and add them all to your own library on your machine.

NOTE: If any of your friends music was purchased from iTunes, it will be protected and will require you to enter his iTunes password for you to play it.

No matter what you try, Your iPod will always delete your old songs on it, so what you're going to have to do, is make a CD and put the songs on that, and put them on your computer( the one that has all the other songs) or you will have to live with the songs on your iPod already or just your friend's music.

What you need to do is copy the songs you want from your friend, add them to your library and then change your ipod prefrences from auto updating to manual updating, after doing this, make sure the ipod is still connected, select all d songs you want 2 add by holding ctrl and clicking every song you want to add, then drag them all to the ipod icon on your itunes, then you have to wait a long while for the songs to copy. (to make this easier, get the latest itunes)

there is an option in the preference to not delete your songs in your ipod unless they changed it.
