We (the general public) elect people into comfortable jobs and give them power over our lives. We elect them to have better lives then us and to be treated on a higher level. When a president dies, why does his death mean so much more than anyone elses? Recently there was a shooting in Tacoma, Washington. Instead of covering this on tv, Gerald Ford's funeral was being shown. I think a story like this deserves more coverage then his funeral.

I will answer your question in two parts.

1) Yes I think as you do that many of are government elected people are overpaid people that don't think about the people that put them into office.

2) I do feel a President deserves respect when they die, but not televised over nearly five or more days. Or that the federal employees get a day off to mourn, since I doubt many of them do that anyways, no matter who the President was.

Maybe as people/humans they aren't any more valuable or important.........But they deserve RESPECT for taking on a job that not that many could handle! So a little TV time won't hurt anyone.
If they put all murders and crimes on TV we would need a special channel for all of it.

Yeah, I determine because of the fact it is not correct what maximum individuals of people desire, i will run for president, i will purely pay off the school of Electoral votes like a number of different president looks to do. incredibly, why run once you will desire to be corrupt to get there? i desire to be waiting to do reliable issues for this u . s ., no longer undesirable issues, so i'd somewhat no longer would desire to sell my soul to get into skill. Spend $10 million to get a $400k a 12 months activity, what's the motivation? Presidents are no longer elected by skill of maximum individuals of people, they are elected by skill of a school of electoral votes, i do no longer even understand why they carry elections or perhaps have recounts. i'd somewhat no longer get into workplace so others can cover their unlawful doings in my call, I wish elected officers made under $45k a 12 months and have been given well-being reward. i think of elected officers should not be touted by skill of political events the two, they only make it to the political fee tag by skill of being friends with different corrupt politicians. actually, I did think of of working for any workplace to make differences, yet i stumble on i won't be able to even stay with myself if i think I cheated all people out of something, and that i does not be waiting to stay to tell the story having to compromise my morals with a view to get sufficient skill to make the needed judgements or differences. i'm professional medicinal hemp, anti government conspiracy, and actual think of the school of electoral votes would desire to be accomplished away with so customary vote counts returned. i'm for containing those in workplace in charge for their strikes, exposing illicit dealings, and eliminating religious management in a multi-faith u . s .. i think in a god yet have not got self assurance the adult adult males writing the holy books have been out to do better than serve the religious establishments.

Spend that tax money. He was a good man, but enough is enough. I guess it's a perk for being pres., but yes, I agree there are more important issues, like the cop that paid a hit man to kill his wife for $200,000.000. Haven't heard since that one day it was on CNN> Yeah......... we want to keep that quiet. Makes the cops - excuse me - officers of the law look mean........oh poor babies.

I agree. Politicians are too much like celebrities and are about as smart as them.

We give them way too much attention.
