I’m inclined to give it to Superman, here’s why: several people have mentioned that Norrin Radd is powerful throughout the universe, but it is not true that Superman only has his powers in our solar system. ANY yellow sun would give him powers, and it is even possible that a hotter star (green or blue or violet) would charge up the solar power receptors in Superman’s cells to a higher degree than our yellow sun does. He could become even MORE super than he was before!

Having said that, though, if the SS is aware of Clark’s weakness, and if Norrin is able to convert the cosmic rays into Kryptonite radiation, Clark would in deed have a tough time. I just can’t see Norrin as being willing to kill him, though. Honor came late into his life, after serving Galactus, but it grows stronger. I think he would not kill Superman.

There is also the possibility that, even if they were fighting near a yellow star, if the SS was able to project red sun rays and ‘clog up’ Superman’s solar power receptors with them, then Clark would have a limited amount of time before his power ran out. I don’t know whether that is possible, though, and I still stand by my original answer. I give it to Superman.

The Silver Surfer, with the power cosmic at his disposal. Sups would have a bad day. Since Superman does have a limit on the amount of damage to his body, the Surfer does not. It would be a knock down drag out, but in the end Silver Surfer wins.

I would give it too Silver Surfer but some recent new info came to light :Superman himself was a Herald of Galactus and was able to defeat the master In the Superman/Fantastic Four crossover Superman was briefly a herald, but rebelled against Galactus . So if Superman can defeat the master I am sure he can defeat the student.

Besides the silver surfer fans might have you believe he is unbeaten the power of the cosmos mean squat because he has been swatted around himself a few times.

Silver Surfer because SuperMan still has a weakness(kryptonite) and still mortal(ages). And I doubt Silver Surfer has any and also the fact that Silver Surfer has god-like powers such as the Power Cosmic which he gets from manipulating energy from the universe.

the animated series made silver surfer look like a surfing hippie. And in fantastic four 2 they make him look like the liquid robot from Terminator 2. But still superman is the overall victor.

Nice question!! Silver Surfer though, because he is powerful anywhere, as you remember Superman is only powerful in our solar system, but Silver Surfer is powerful throughout the universe...

Silver Surfer - because he wields the 'power cosmic', superman is just really strong an damage resistant (but not indestructible as illustrated by his death at the hands of Doomsday)

this is like asking who would win?

An ant or an ant eater.

Silver Surfer (as corny as the premise of a cosmic surfing character may be) would simply demolish superman.

Lets look at thier records, surfer fights galactic enemies like galactus and thanos and superman regularly gets his *** handed to him by the human batman.

Superman is waaaay out of his league here. He would be out of his league against thor or Iron Man, how the hell could he even begin to think of taking on someone much more powerfull than them?

Silver Surfer would make Superman his girlfriend, ditch the surfboard and ride him around the universe.

Ps. Please Superman, don't beat me up.
