I have been putting my video collection on to DVD. They play back ok on the machine I recorded them on, but only some of them play on a different machine. One of the error messages is 'No valid disk'
One other problem is they sometimes stop in the middle of playback with freeze frame

The DVD player probably simply doesn't support burned dvd's.

Maybe your DVD Player doesn't support the copied DVD's your putting the videos on?

It all depends in which format the dvd has been burnt. Make sure that it is the correct region disc , depending on which country you live in.

make sure to ALWAYS finalize the DVDs you make

Sounds like that old +/- DVDR problem
