i went to a drs appt. yesterday and i felt so uncomfortable, i need a referral to have a pregnancy termination. im 21 i have 2 kids already and i wasnt ready for another 1. the dr told me i was carrying Gods child he then rolled his chair to me put his leg between mine and held my hand he told me that he loved me .... repeatedly told me how beautiful i was and kissed me on the cheek he hugged me it made me so uncomfortable. I dont know if im overreacting but i do know what happen in there and it wasnt normal i have never met this man before i dont know what to do PLEASE HELP i need advice. at the end of the appt. he made me a prescription for prenatel vitamins and wanted to see me again for a prenatel visit i told him i need to have an abortion and he ignored the question and everything i said. anybody that has been in need of this procedure know there is no time to wast and now i have to change my dr. miss work go to another dr wait for the athorization ect...

WOW, What he did is totally illegal. Report him to the police of that community and go to another doctor that will not feel you up. Bring another person with you if you need to go to that doctor again. Hopefully, he won't try anything with that other person in the room.

First, go talk to the highest authority you can find at that doctor's office, and tell them exactly what happened. That doctor has NO right telling you what to do, he can only suggest courses of action. What he did was outright sexual harassment, and he should be kicked out on his @ss for it. Try checking in the next state over to see if you need a doctor's authorization for abortions. I personally think that requirement is horse feces. Are you by any chance in South Carolina, or somewhere in the Bible Belt?

I am a medical student. It is always better to get a female doctor specializing in obstetrics and gynecology rather than a male doctor. It is also possible that perhaps you over reacted becuase in the situation you are in but I cannot tell becuase I was not in the scene. Question, was there anybody else in the room?

Okay I wasn't going to get involved here but -- Sue him for what? Report him for what?
The leg between hers? Holding her hand? Telling her she was beautiful? A kiss on the cheek? He invaded personal space, but he did not "harass" or abuse her.
He is not obligated in most states to refer a person for an abortion if it is against his religious convictions.
People need to start taking responsibility for their own health care - you saw a doctor who does not refer for abortions, you think you might have wanted to know that little tidbit of information before you went there? You had never seen him before? Umm - then why were you there? Doctor shopping for someone to give you what you want?
You are in a situation that you got yourself into - so yes you will need to locate another physician who will refer you out for an abortion, or go directly to an OB. Gee sorry you are going to miss a day of work, next time find a doctor who prescribes the pill.
This folks is why we lose good physicians in this country - because people scream "sue" because they think they can make a ton of money. If you think he was inappropriate then contact the AMA - but you were not injured, you were inconvienced - deal with it.

Thats not right at all th doctor has no right...also...if ur payin to get that abortion...He shoudlnt b allowed 2 say no...you should find another doctor....FAST...who knows what might happen the next time you see him...good luc:)

this doctor seems like a bigger wack job than I am, get someone to beat him up, or file civil law suit, this guy should not be working

go to the law right now and get his *** thrown in jail that is sexual harrassment in a nut shell. He needs to get his liscence revoked and do some time. If you don't please give me his name and I will do it for you. Please go to the authorites.
