Yes I did. I thought they'd have machines to make complete dinners for us too - just like on the Jetsons'.

Thats a tough question, because it was a long time ago when I was a kid! But I did think the jet pack would be in style. Still, who would have thought we'd have computers and instant internet access and be able to talk to people like we are now? Or that there would be cell phones, and CD's, and DVD's, and IPods, and all of that advanced tech stuff. Didn't even think it in the 80's. Who knows what will happen by 2015?

I actually clipped out an article back in 1990 about someone who actually made one. It basically works like a hovercraft. But it's considered an aircraft and therefore the regulations for an airplane applies to it...and not as a car. Which makes sense. An airplane would have trouble landing with a bunch of flying cars everywhere. Plus...the death toll would increase due to flying cars. Once you run out of gas, the accidents would be serious or fatal. So...I don't know if we will ever have them. : )

hovering cars and boards are primitive and it's exactly why we seem to be going nowhere. We do already have flying buses [airplanes] and even flying motorbikes [microlites].
The real thing that bugs me is that we've not yet harnessed the power of E=MC2 and learned to time travel and teleport ourselves. We keep designing new crude ways to communicate like phones and internet, yet telepathy has taken a mythical stance and we are none the wiser. Films do inspire great inventions though, like Starwars, yet, we've forgotten that we're only using max 5% of our brain power and we have not yet tapped into our full potential as beings.

In the 1960s, such as in Star Trek, they promised us computers you can have a conversation with. I think we'll have those by 2015.... unfortunately, manning the Microsoft Help desk.

Not me, and I hope we never do.
People have enough trouble handling them on the ground.
The last thing we need is drunk drivers at 400 feet.
