When I was working I had a sign made that said...
"Unless this is about business, please keep out".
It worked and I got lots more work done....and believe it or not I still had friends there.

I guess cause the cube is an open space and they don't see boundaries. Even in my office if the door is open people don't hesitate to just come right in. You need a do not disturb sign.

Yes, it is very annoying. I wish people would send emails when they want something - it would be so much nicer!!

they are either bored or don't want to work and assume you will feel the same. or that you are there to entertain them.
