On average, what is the salary of a first year NFL or NCAA football referee? Just curious.?

In the NCAA, it depends on the conference and level of experience. I've heard of it being as low as $100 a game plus expenses for Division III officials, to as much as $2,500 per game plus expenses for SEC, BIG 10 and etc. officials. The NFL pays on a sliding scale based on experience. A rookie NFL official will make about $2,000 per game plus expenses. Tenured officials will make $5,000 + per game. Also, officials that are picked for playoff games and the Super Bowl get nice bonus checks as well!
