No, I think it would make you an bright, intelligent young person who realizes they want to reach their full potential, that realizes what they have to offer this planet, that doesn't want to be held back, that wants to reach their goals, who wants to be better than their parents were before them and wants to be viewed by others as such.

Absolutely not! "violent rap, the hood," and not speaking with "proper diction" are not defining characteristics of black people. When will people understand that there is diversity within races, ethnic groups, even neighborhoods and families? The whole wonderment of it all is that we are all free to be ourselves, and our behavior does not define our race, nor vise versa. Go on with your bad self!
(PS whoever called you that is just threatened, ignore them)

All African Americans don't think, talk, walk or write alike. Just like Caucasians and others, we are all different. Please be aware that African Americans are humans with individual characteristics. Keep in mind that just because there seems to be a large population of African Americans who like rap, the hood and doesn't talk with proper diction doesn't mean that ALL Africans Americans are like them.

No. I don't like violent rap, I don't like everything about "the hood" but that's where I came from so I have an appreciation for it, and I speak properly when the situation calls for it and I love myself.

That's like saying ALL blacks like violent rap and the hood and talk improper which is not true. You are not self-hating. You are being an individual. It's your right.

No, they are not self-hating. Being black does not mean tht one enjoys any particular kind of music, area to live in or expressions. This is simply a matter of taste.

What?!? That's crazy. Just because they don't like those things means they're hating on themselves. They just have a different viewpoint and opinion than some other people.

No not at all and that kind of thinking that one has to "act black" is what is poisoning the blacks of this generation, The funny thing is it is the logical equivalent of saying "I act this way because of my skin color, and have no free will of my own"

The current state blacks are in is not by choice but by natural instinct. they are who they are. there may be 10 percent who act the norm and are outcasts by their own race. And that is why the norm in the ******* race points fingers at those who they think are abnormal because they see those negroids make the right decisions in life instead of violence and acting like morons in public.
