I was interested in any books a lay person could read on how to deal with these manipulative/aggressive types of individuals. I ran into a book on-line called "Wolves in Sheeps Clothing" and it seems interesting. I read up on some reviews and they're very good with the exception that it does not give a lot of info on how to deal with these types of personalities. It seems to basically affirm that these type of people exist and if you're feeling crazy after dealing with them, don't because that's how they want you to feel. I posted this question before and the book given, "Base Instincts", is not what I'm looking for.

It's called passive aggressive. I once managed 6 workers like that. They hated me because I learned to back them into a corner.

I found that I had to be direct and factual with them and I had to demand an action or a statement and wait patiently for them to reply and they knew I knew what they were doing. My insistence and perseverance won every time.

I never got angry in fact I smiled the same smirky smile as them but I will not let them get away with anything.

I don't allow those people in my private life at all because I'm not getting paid to deal with them.

I think pointing out to them that they are being passive aggressive when they are doing it will help them see the behavior and then they can choose to do something about it or deny doing it. At that point, you can decide if you want to deal with their behavior or not. Usually, also when they don't get you to jump through the invisible hoop they put up for you they throw a tantrum or do something behind your back so they aren't really worth having that in your life.
