To get over any addiction......you have to find a way to replace it.
People dont jus stop drinking they find something else to do instead. i.e smoking, working out, strip clubs whatever. People replace habits they dont remove them. Good Luck

Well it depends on how long and how much they have been drinking. Because it's harder if you have drank a long time and the body will crave it alot. So one thing to do is meditate or do yoga so that the mind will become prepared for when the craving hit. Because you want the mine to control the body not teh body controling the mind. It will be hard but if you really want to quit you can. ALso have friends around when you need a drink and they can help you by taking you out and enjoying the day untill the craving goes away. It will be very hard. Becasue not only did I quit drinking but smoking too at the same time. So good luck and if you need someone to chat with just IM me anytime.

I have been in AA for a little over 5 years. The only thing that helped my cravings was getting on my knees, asking my higher power (G-d) to remove my cravings, and going to meetings. Meetings helped take my mind off of them.

make sure u surround yourself with people that will help you with not drinking. if you are hanging out with people that want to get trashed al the time, it won't do you any good. alcoholism is a disease and you have to realize that you have a problem even if you just think its something minor it can turn into something huge and you will start to hurt people around you as well as yourself. you may not want to think that you have a problem but AA meetings will help you. dont be ashamed, a lot more people have the same problem ans talking to them can help you figure out what things make you drink. it may not be about just drinking, other things in your life could be causing you to drink, like problems that you have maybe just covered up and stuffed away. good luck i believe in you. Stay strong!

I've been sober for over 20 years. I still attend at least one AA meeting a week. A good group of people and the 12 Step program is a good way to live.
Try it, you might like it!

Sounds to me like they dont want to quit. However, sugar will help the cravings. But if they are a real alcoholic, then they will not be able to stop on their own.

put hydrogen peroxide in all of your drinks, so if you go to drink a bit you'll burn your esophagus. You'll never want to drink again!
