We are against abortion because it is killing an innocent child and it is morally wrong.

I assume you're being sarcastic.

But I do find it interesting - what would happen if a "conservative" accepted all the arguments I hear about abortion and ran on that platform? Imagine a Republican saying that these people are unwanted anyway, that no one wants to pay for them, and that people don't want to adopt black, hispanic or disabled kids, so we should abort them. (I have heard ALL of these arguments from strict pro-choice folks.) And also, that abortion should be free but all child welfare programs should be cut, to address the complaint that some have about strict pro-life types: that they care about the child in the womb but not after birth. If you don't care about either, then you're not a hypocrite!

Do you think the liberals would like that candidate? Or does all this sound cruel, greedy, and bigoted? If it sounds that way when a conservative says it, then how can it not when a liberal says it?

Also, Chris Rock said he likes to pick up women at pro-choice rallies so he can be assured of meaningless sex with no strings attached. I'm not sure if that fits into the feminists' idea of "empowering women" either - turning them into "receptacles" - but I guess it's another vote in the pro-choice column so it's all good.

:)

If you look into the demographics of it you'll find that you are right about it keeping the libs in check.

But as far as to why most conservatives are against abortion, well look at it like this.

Most (Not all) Conservatives in America are for the death penalty and against abortion for the same reason. They feel that if you have to be killed by a doctor or the state you should do something to merit such treatment first.

Many libs are against the Death Penalty because they see it as a human rights violation. But have no problem with Abortion because they don't see fetus as alive.

All i have to say is, we were all fetuses once. I would hope that we all will not merit death by the state. But it has always been an argument of faith on faith. Faith that babies have souls as soon as they are conceived and that mass murderers have as much of a right to life as you do.

Well i am against Abortion. I am also against the death penalty.

So instead of having an abortion, remove a 3 week old fetus' and let them live their own lives. Oh, that's right a 3 week old fetus isn't alive, or capable of life outside of the womb.

Perhaps we should only be allowed to use the abortive techniques illustrated in the bible. After all the bible says you can just leave an unwanted newborn in a fast moving stream or the middle of the desert.

In theory it's a good idea but what if one of those aborted liberal kids were to reform and be moral some day. Gives you pause.

For those who are anti-life (save the Pro-choice if you are going to call Pro-life anti-choice you get this title with honors) we need around to keep the debate alive and well.

If the anti-life would be open to any reasonable compromise about regulations I think it be OK but they don't because deep down if they do open it up to compromise they whole case is house of cards.

To me abortion is about a human life and not a religious question.

Murder is Murder! It does not matter if it is abortion, war, capital punishment or for that matter mercy killing! Our President is against abortion but justifys war and has signed many execution
orders, suppose they are innocent, even if they were not,who said "vengence is mine"!

that makes as much sense as saying that war keeps the conservative population in check...politics isn't hereditary, and liberals serve and conservatives abort.

For Allah's sake! Why is everyone in the business of everyone else. I mean if you do not believe in abortion do not abort. You can not impose your beliefs on other people. I personally am against abortion, but does that mean I should go campaign and prevent my neighbor jane doe from abortion (NO) why? Leave people alone...

I'm not against abortion, I think they should make it legal up to the age of 18. Think of the liberals that would be out of the picture then! LOL
