No ... for the most part, the offender has more rights than the person they committed their crime against! Does that make any sense to you?

Thank the ACLU and spineless liberal legislators for the laws that keep those criminals comfortable if they ever make it to jail at all.

One, I think that there needs to be differentiation between the offenders. Currently, a man who molests 4 year old boys will have to register, and follow the laws as a sex offender.

The 19 year old who had sex with his 16 year old girlfriend and got caught will have to follow those same laws. There are cases where this happened, and the couple ended up married with children, yet he is still a registered sex offender.

The current laws I do not think are fair. But, they are the laws, and are to be followed. If we want them changed, we have to take action. If you are not willing to take the necessary steps to try and effect that change, then don't complain.

There was an undercover report in Houston, and they went to sex offenders places of employment and asked them if they had disclosed they were sex offenders. Many had, some had not. If someone had not, they would make a huge stink about it. What the reporter failed to acknowledge was that it is not required to disclose this inforation to your employer if they do not ask in Texas. So basically, you had a sex offender in complete compliance with the laws set forth before him getting harassed by a news person. Of course, most people won't defend the pedophile. In this case I did. I felt the news station and reporter were wrong in what they did.

Now, I think pedophiles are the scum of the earth. But, I also am for the constitution, and following the laws set forth by the various legislatures out there. I hold the politicians responsible for the state of the laws concerning sex offenders.

The laws regarding Sex Offender registration and the Patriot Act are two peas in the same pod. They are tools used to strip citizens of their civil rights. They are just the beginning. More legislation is pending that will require more people to register i.e. pot smokers and DUIs will soon be listed on some website somewhere. Your time will come. Registration for sex offenders does nothing to protect children. Only a very small percentage of sex offenders ever commit another sex crime (according to the Bureau of Justice statistics). Sex Offenders have a lower recidivism rate than almost ALL other types of criminals. These laws are merely a means to marginilize and shun an entire population. Over a half a million people across the country and growing. The Patriot Act merely expands on this desire to create a class society. Soon we will see even more restrictions and abuses against our civil rights. You may not mind the gov. telling you what to do, where to live and listening to your conversations and reading your e-mails and such now because you have nothing to hide and lead a pure life. But who decides what is a crime and who is a terrorist. By the time you do care, it will be too late for you. You will be behind bars or shunned and villified. The only requirement for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. You have been warned.

What laws protecting sex offenders?

PROTECTING sex offenders? Well, they are judged very harshly because they disrupt the fabric of society. My friend, who is a cop, was just noticing that the penalties for child rape are getting to bad, that the offenders may be more likely to kill them- because the sentences are just as long as for murder.

what law is that? they have to registar and have their data aviable on the internet, even if htyve done their complete time. so sex offences are stupid, a 19 yr old boy with a 17 year old girl is rape in many states. Child molestors should be put to death, no question about that, rapists same thing

Why would you want to protect a sex offender?

Why should sex offenders be protected? I saw a lovely idea on rotten.com. Make them wear ankle braclets with GPS pingers on them. Then invite all the eager redneck hunters, give them GPS trackers and watch the population of pedophiles drop dramatically.

YOU WANT TO PROTECT THEM? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? they have too many rights. i say cut off their parts. or stick a glass tube in the little hole and break it off. they won't be able to get it up or get excited, but if they do, it'll hurt like hell. of course, what do i know? i was raped by my stepfather from the time i was 3 til i was 8. i would love to meet him again. l think they should all be put in a cell to sexually offend each other.
