working together in blissful harmony, transparency, blah blah blah. it was okay for the most worthless congress ever that we finally voted out to shut democrats out but now it's a problem. bush, who has headed the most secretive administration ever now touts gov't. transparency-which is sad yet laughable.

i love it when these right-wing tools freak out when the tide has turned. how 'bout you???

please feel free to cry and pout and berate me, republicans. bring it. we're gonna kill millions of little future republicans for stem-cell research and stop thieves like haliburton from abusing the system among other messes to be ameliorated.

As a right-leaning independent I have to say that it makes me sick that bi-partisanship even has to be brought up. Political agendas (liberal and conservative alike) are being put in front of the needs of our people. Though I can't support the republicans based on recent record, the Dems are not always known for their playground etiquette either. Bi-partisanship should be the norm, instead of something we are trying for a change. The republicans should be ashamed --- the democrats should be careful. We're all on the same team.

Bi-partisanship is only important when you are the minority. When you enjoy the majority it's "my way or the Highway". Do you recall when Republicans tried to change the rules in the Senate and take away the filler buster?. That was a great example of the Republican arrogance, they wanted to get conservative judges confirmed.
Cheney gave a interview in "Time" October where he said "we will hold on to power in both the House's and the Senate in November."

Politics has become a sport: them versus us. Now the Democrats have the ball and the Republicans are playing defense, the same way the Democrats played it when the Republicans controlled both houses. It's what we call democracy.

You've hit the proverbial nail on the head, my friend. I feel exactly the same way. I was delighted to wake up this a.m. to the headlines that the power has shifted. Bush has never cared anything about bi-partisanship, but now... It will be interesting to see what happens.

Bothers me too. They should have thought of this the moment they took for granted that we would vote for them just because they 'called' themselves republicans.

I don't care for democrats, but they won in November. It is their congress. And republicans crying and pouting is not going to improve their chances two year from now.

Same way the democrates wanted bi-partisanship when they went to the minority status.

Left wing or right wing they all do the same thing.

Because when they had the lead, they were happy to keep it to themselves. But when Democrats have the power, they really should share and play fair.
