I have the perfect suggestion if you like your history books.
Ellie is short for Eleanor which was made popular by Eleanor of Aquitaine in the 12th century. Why don't you call a boy LOUIS after her husband. If it's a girl then you could call her LOU.
Ellie and Louis / Louis and Ellie
Ellie and Lou / Lou and Ellie
Personally, I would go for a name you liked in it's own right rather than something that fitted with the older sibling's.
My history suggestion is not entirely serious and is a bit cheesy but choosing rhming names takes it all the way to Vintage Stilton
Whatever you choose, it will flow easily off the tongue if you say it enough..... having a pair of small kids.... you'll be saying it all the time.

Ellie is cute. Is it short for Eleanor or just plain Ellie?
How about Jo or Joe?
Do yourself a favour and don't call your second child by the same initial. I have two J's and one G. They're right tongue twisters.

Ignore all these stupid comments about comparing to your first born obviously you have to consider the name of the first kid you have and it also lets us know what names you like. Ellie is one of my favourite names.
My 2 girls are called Laurie and Holly which I love too. I think they are probably sound too near to Ellie.
What about Francesca, Eva or Imogen for a girl.
My faves for a boy are Nicky(Nicholas) and Josh.

What a cute name!
Stay away from E names, it's always so creepy when all the children have names that start with the same letter.
Do you know the gender of the second child?

My name is Ellie and my brother is called Louis. I think names ending with an "ie" sound go well together.
