Calling for information on credit accounts, car loans, etc; more often than not, I end up talking to someone that I cannot understand. You know you're in trouble when you can't understand their name. What can we as consumers do about all this outsourcing of CS jobs to overseas? Where they train someone to say 'Hi. My name is Steve'...I get so mad by the end of the call, I usually hang up...Is it wrong to ask for someone that speaks American and without an accent?

You are absolutely right! It is very tiresome to call tech support of any kind and end up in India. Though they use an American name when introducing themselves, it still does no good when you can not understand anything else. The outsourcing of CR would probably get better if enough people called and complained. And if it was possible to get some one to hire in at a reasonable pay rate for that job. Example, if the CR person works for say some product comment line and all they do is talk to people and type a few comments, sorry that job does not warrant a $50,000 a year pay which is why the jobs get outsourced. Usually though if I can not understand the person I am talking to I will ask for someone else and if that does not work I hang up and call till I do and then tell them not to transfer me anywhere out of the U.S. That has worked with most of the business calls I have had to make.
