I would make an apt. with your doc. to have a check-up, it's difficult to diagnose your symptoms otherwise.
You might have fibroids.

I have exactly the same - periods last for a full 7 to 10 days and heavy all the way through. The blood is always watery. Everyone is different. I recently had a pelvic ultrasound because of bad period pain and all is completely normal. Try not to worry -everyone is different. Just before my period, I take gentle iron - that seems to help. I understand now why my mother used to call it "the curse" !

Ok "heavy periods". Does that mean hypermenorrhea( excess amount of blood) or polymenorrhea(pereiod days elongated and less time between periods)? For finding the cause, a medical history is needed. But most of the time the condition is not serious and you should just manage the pain and substitute the blood you lose with fluid and vitamins.

Go see your GP, you do not need to suffer with heavy periods nowadays. They will explain your options.

go see your doc as he might recomend a method of contraception that'll lighten it for you.
Even if your already taking contraception id see him because this might be ther reason- your contraception is wrong for you and might need a different method
