It is possible to buy a gold bar, but I doubt from Ft. Knox. I doubt there is anyway to identify the ones from there anyway. BTW, did you know the US mint got into platinum coins in 2006? The entire set of coins issued by the mint last year would set you back $15,000. And you were thinking one silly little gold bar...

No ... Fort Knox isn't a gold dealer ... it's our country's main gold repository. If you want to buy gold, get Swiss Krugerrands.
