I never thought someone would ask this question but I am a connoisseur of strategy games myself and this one is a bit old but one of my all time favorites.

It is called Battle of Waterloo: Napoleonic Wars. You can either fight as if you are in the shoes of the great conqueror, or play against him and pursue his imminent downfall!

Good graphics at the time this game came out but it's aged a few years but man the challenge is definitely there, as the element of surprise is key. Keeping an eye on your troops morale and using the Calvary is a site to behold as they just crush and mangle foot monsters with weak knives for side arms LOL! Good luck and let me know what you think of the game when you do get it. I have saved the question link to my faves for future comments about the game.

Last piece of advice complete all 6 tutorials before playing the campaign mode in this game, you don't your CPU sprites laughing at your mouse clicks do you LOL?

Just got Cossacks which is based around the Napoleon era but more in the genre of command and conquer than a strategy game.

Best War Strategy game is the Total War series. If you have ever enjoyed the board game Risk this will be just down your street, and you get to fight the actual battles.

Unfortunately they have not done Napoleonic yet (Shogun, Medieval, Rome and Medieval 2) but this series would be perfect for fighting Napoleonic era battles
