Teach a child responsibility and personal respect...
or just hand them a condom and diaphram and hope for the best? Its like saying jump off the cliff since all your friends did.
There are worse things than a baby... like AIDS... etc. Or both...

In addition to this, should we just okay freedom of alcohol and drugs? No! Pregnancy isn't the only reason children drop out of school. Sex is a part of life, of growing up, the passage into womanhood or manhood. It should be taught that it is not only a risk to ones health, but it is also a great responsibility - to both participants. Boys and Girls alike should be taught restraint, that it is okay to say "no" to going all the way. Unfortunately, sex is woven into our worlds (now more than ever) through the media (movies, TV, magazines, radio...etc). Sex sells! At least that is what I told my 8 yr old dtr when she asked why they show it on TV so much. I guess the bottom line is not to group everyone in the same category. There are some kids who are going to have it no matter what - and there will still be teenage pregnancy. Then there will be others who will abstain, for a while at least. We, as parents and adults, must teach our children to behave responsibly, to have a voice for their opinions, and to have courage to face adversity in their peer groups.

Typical question from a typical guy who can't abstain from sex and wants to have it without fear or ramification! Stop attempting to get into the pants of every female you see and take some salt peter. My husband says, what makes guys think sex is something they deserve instead of something they must earn?

because, believe it or not, some teenagers my choose not to have sex. or wait until til they are at least finished with high school, so forcing all teenagers to get a diaphram would be unfair.

because no method of birth control is 100% safe except abstinence.
Forced birth control---yeah, I don't think that's going to go real far as a policy.
