suppose u are x distance behind mirror then ur image would b formed x dstance inside the mirror therefore when u start velocity say v then u r image would also walk with same speed(but in opposite direction) ie v therefore ur relative velocity would be v-(-v)=2v
hence u feel that u r walking wid velocity of 2v

If you compare your distance to your image in the mirror, then you and your image seem twice as far apart as you actually are to the mirror. So when you walk towards the mirror your image is also moving closer to you giving you the sensation that you are moving twice as fast towards each other than your actual speed towards the mirror.

Interesting question, never really thought about it before...

Presumably this would be because we judge our speed at least partly based on how fast we're approaching our image - which of course is twice our actual speed. I have to agree, though, I don't recall having noticed this effect. Though I don't make a habit of walking rapidly towards large mirrors...

I think you are just crazy. I have never felt this way when approaching a large mirror.

its is the actual thing that many seems to have thought of.

the exact thing is that the nerves from our eyes get excited faster and image is rapidly sent to brain in form of signals which are generally faster and hence we'll feel that we r walking faster in front of a mirror
