The Federal and State governments have finally achieved a near stranglehold on manufacturing plants. The laws that have been passed over the last 30 years to "protect" workers have only succeeded in making it impossible to stay in business and meet the requirements. It may make sense to some people to protect lazy and troublesome workers from getting fired, but that burden on manufacturing plants has virtually eliminated any possibility of being able to compete in a global environment.

What will be the response to this....why more "employee protection" laws. I am astounded that most people don't understand why this has been so harmful to the economy and the American way of life.

Even worse, it is not just mill and factory workers anymore. Alot of companies are having their computer programming and things such as that done using outsourcing, while those that depend on those jobs are losing their ability to support their families. All it seems to be benefitting is lining the pocket books of stock holders and CEO types.
