as much as canada's laws arent as harsh as they are in the states, the fun i think u are referring to is smoking dope and (ahem) prositution.
prositution is illegal in canada, and marijuana is only decriminalized. (meaning you cant really get too harsh of a penalty for smoking it, but if you deal it, you're spending 10 years in jail.
in amsterdam, both are legal.
pick wisely.. if you are from the states, it will probly be cheaper for you to come to canada
hope that somewhat helps.. and have fun wherever u go :)

I used to live in Amsterdam and now live in Ontario Canada.
Basically if you want to do anything you want then go to Amsterdam. That country basically allows everything.
but on the other hand Canada is a beautiful country, the people are extremely nice and helpful. And Canada is so much bigger and has a lot of variety. You have Toronto (CN tower, shopping), Montreal, Niagara Falls, Vancouver, Edmonton, Up north is beautiful, and the east coast is amazing as well

Depends on what you want to do. Culture, clubbing, history etc - go to Amsterdam. Not much nature there, so if you are looking for that - Canada.
Personally I would go to Canada - but that's because I can enjoy Amsterdam every day!

Amsterdam is a intense high quality place to stay, that's a colourful multicultural city. It entice countless youngsters from international huge. in undemanding terms the citycenter is previous, yet very stable maintained. You wil get the sensation in case you have been jogging interior the overdue 1600. yet that makes Amsterdam so unique. in case you like modern-day cities, then Rotterdam may well be a stable selection as wel. Rotterdam is the 2d great city of the Netherlands and don't have a historic centre, yet extra a kyscraper downtown. And weed is tolerated in entire of the Netherlands. (only google Rotterdam and locate out) yet additionally undergo in ideas the Netherlands is an exceedingly dense united states with extra then sixteen million human beings residing of the scale of Tasman Island. Amsterdam has a stable reference to different ecu cities, like London by airplane interior an hour or Paris with the highspeedtrain in 3 hours. I had visited my relatives as quickly as in Toronto. that's a multicultural city aswel. i like Toronto, even if that's extremely diverse then Europe. What I mis is a comfortable citycentre, as a replace of a downtown with place of work-homes. What i like in Canada is the character. i think of that is like Australia, you will possibly want tochronic for hours and you're nevertheless interior the midst of no-have been. if youchronic for hours from Amsterdam, you will lead to Paris or Berlin.

Tough choice...
If it were me I'd choose A'dam only because you can go to so many other places from here. In Canada you can visit the rest of Canada but it gets pricey cause of the distances. Whereas in Amsterdam you have a choice of countries to visit and w/ low cost airlines you can do it fairly cheap.
But if you do choose Canada I'd go w/ Vancouver. Gorgeous city...what it lacks in historic architecture it make up for in natural beauty.
