Nah.. no little white lie compares to the childhood trauma of realizing that your hamster was actually replaced when it kicked it while you were at school, no matter how many times mom just insisted "he got a haircut and THAT is why he looks different"

No, but it was disappointing because there was that real sense of magic...only to find out it doesn't exist.

I don't have kids but if I did, I don't think I would tell them those things. I think I would just be honest from the beginning.

I actually never believed in that stuff, but i do remember writing a letter to santa once, but i was totally skeptical about and only did it cuz my mom told me to. lol.

what do you mean? like no santa at the shopping centre. yeah but then there was a santa at our other shopping centre so that made me happier

no. I was not traumatized by that. that's nothing compared to the horrible childhood (or lack therof) I had.

Somehow, it never bothered me. My parents read to us a lot and I guess we were used to 'make believe'...
