Josh,

The guy that gave the answer about the cleaning the contacts is right correct but Atari game boards don't get as dirty for some reason as Nintendo 8 bit card for some reason. Another issue could be that even though all 2600 games are supposed to be backwards compatible, I have found a few that just don't fit right because of the casing of the cart. To get those to work, I would just remove the outer casing exposing more of the gameboard and the problem would be solved. I had a few that did the same thing you were describing so that's the route I went and only a handful still have the line. One I can vividly remember was Tag-Scan an awesome space shooter, that requires the paddles. What games are you noticing the line on, as I have about 450 different Atari games and can test it myself?

Back to bizkit's post, I got news for you buddy. Atari 800 had a light-gun as well and you could shoot green bugs not lame ducks LOL!

try cleaning the contacts on the games sometimes they get dirty and once you clean them they are as good as new .......the contact are those copper looking stripes on the end of the games themself......either use q-tips with rubbing alcohol and wipe the contacts or a rubber eraser thin enough to fit in the slot to get to the contacts , if using a eraser when done , blow on the contacts to remove any eraser dust or eraser chunks off the contacts
