No a Hindu cannot marry another woman. Under the Hindu Marriage Act,1955 according to sec 17 of this Act any such marriage between two Hindus is void at the date of such marriage if either party had a husband or wife living & the it will be punishable offence unders section 494 & 495 of the Indian Penal Code for bigamy. But a hindu man without changing his religion if marries another woman not under this Act i.e. according to Hindu rites & ceremonies but according to any other religious rites & ceremonies, then although such marriage will remain void & illegal but it wont be sufficent ground for punishing this man for the offence of bigamy. This is the correct Indian legal position in such a case.

Dear if you are a Hindu, then for God shake you should not think of the 2nd marriage when yr Ist Dharampatni (wife) is alive. Only for the sex marry another lady is not good. Single wife can give you better love and care. But if there is any problem with you both then also yu should settle it by sitting together. Marriage is not a agreement but it is the conjunction of two souls on the earth. Life can only run with this or that to whome yu want to remarry. If you are not in a habit to give and then take. Dear it will be very difficult to carry on the married life.
Since I am nothing to you, but therefore being a Hindu I would like to share with yu the experience to life.
If you are very rich then the other wants to grabe yu.
Therefore it is not justified that without divorce you marry again.
thanks and hopes fruitful.

Under the Hindu Marriage act, it is not allowed legally !! and it applies only to people living in India !! BUt religiously speaaking, there is no limit to how many wives a "hindu" guy can have. Even gods in hindu religion have multiple wives.

If you are considering living outside india and do not bother about his legal property or moral issues, GO for it. There is no law that can stop you if u r outside india.

It seems you or some one wants to marry a hindu man who has married under Hindu marriage act.
Definitely NO.
He has to get divorce from the previous marriage, to get married again.
The first wife can take legal action and it can be more painful then the fun of second marriage.
Check this Hindu Marriage Act 1955 may be it can be helpful to you...

Hey there....
If the person is married he can not marry another woman, be it Indian or not.
He has to take Divorce from the prior woman and then only he can marry any other woman.
If he doesent Divorce the first wife and marries another then he would be punished by law, and is obviously cheating the second wife by doing so.

The Hindu Law does not permit polygamy...hence one cannot marry a second time be it male or female unless he gets a divorce from the earlier spouse or get a written permission from the existing spouse before doing so.
In the Muslim Sharia Law though polygamy is permitted for males taking into account the respective alimony

Hope this answers your query

Do you mean does hindusim allow polygamy? The answer is yes. Does Indian law allow it, the answer is no. I derive my answer from the gods. The hindu gods have been paired with more than one woman. Lord krishna is said have married 16000 women whom he rescued. The Hindu kings have certainly married their share. I know a fellow whose grandpa had two wives.

No..a married Hindu male cannot marry a second time. It is not permitted under the laws...in case of such a situation, the second marriage is considered null and void. The second wife and his kids thru her will not be considered as his legal heir and they shall not have any right to his property..

Hmmm...what does the first wife have to say about it?
Is this going to ruin your marriage because your'e having trouble keeping it in your pants or having the hots for someone other than your wife.

Your wife is going to think she's no longer good enough.

Now, there are some women that don't mind sharing their husband, but not many. AND if you screw around, don't be surprised if she feels the need to play around too. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
