Me! I'd stop and check on the cat, find the owner if possible and take it/them to the vet to get it fixed up if possible. If it's a puddle of muck, I'll dispose of it for them!

NO I DID NOT DO THIS!!! (just wondering what kind of people are out there.)

I agree with all that you said and I would add, if the cat or dog dies, I'll dispose of it for them and buy them another kitten or puppy.

I ran over a kitten in the parking lot at the vets!! The person who owned the kitten didn't have it in box and it went ran under the wheels of my car.
There were about 8 witness's to the event and everyone said it wasn't my fault. I was backing out of the space at the time and the kitten was black as the asphalt. When I heard the yell I stopped and the cat was still moving so I went into the vet's and the he came out and got the cat.
I tried to apologize but the woman was nuts! The onlookers told me not to worry so I went home. But it was a very weird feeling.

I would be mortified.

Someone hit my neighbor's dog at a high rate of speed and left a "puddle of muck" for the neighbor to find in front of his own house. I don't know how you could hit an animal and not care, but then again people get hit and those drivers run, too. There was just a 2 year old killed by a hit and run driver where I live. Sick.

My friend did this when we were coming back from a concert as teenagers. She actually laughed, backed up and said YEAH did I get it. I was stunned. She hated cats, but I never realized how much. We got in a slight disagreement while I made her wait out in the middle of nowhere to look for the cat. Never did find it, but it certainly made me realize what she was like. I had a cat and two dogs at home. Prayed mine was in the house when she was dropping me off, it was.

I'd find the owner and beat the **** out of him for letting the cat roam.

I would try and find the owner, and take it to the Vet, if it could be saved. I would be very upset~~~
