I didn't notice that the nurse marked that the baby was in breech position until I watched the VHS tape last night. They were unable to determine the baby's sex because it's legs were closed. I have to go back in two weeks.

Does this mean that I'll have a C-section? Will baby be breech around Delivery time.

Please Help!!. I want a natural birth. What do I need to do to change this and make the baby move more???

It is perfectly normal for baby to be breech right now and it doesn't mean you will need a c-section. Babies usually turn between 33-36 weeks to get ready for birth.

At 20 weeks you don't need to worry about the baby being in a breech position. There is more than enough time for position to change. This should not change your birthing plans as of yet because you still have a while to go. If the baby is still breech closer to delivery the doctor may try to turn the baby manually.

The baby will do all sorts of moving in the next 20 weeks, don't worry! The baby changes position all the time, sometimes they wait until the very end to change positions.

Just a word of warning though, while having a birth plan of wanting a natural birth is good, please be prepared to have that baby however the Dr deems necessary-even if it means a c-section. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a c-section if it saves your or your child's life. Sometimes, it just needs to be done. That in no way makes you any less of a mother (anyways, c-section babies generally don't have cone heads!)

Babies move all the time, changing positions is easy for them. Your baby is still very small and has tons of room to movge around. You could have just caught the baby in that position, he's likely facing differently now. When babies are ready to come out, most will be in the birthing position a few weeks before delivery. You still have 20 weeks to go, don't be concerned, you and the baby will be fine and a c-section....unlikely unless a doctor decides its absolutley necessary
Good Luck

Yes it is normal, the baby usually turns head down (the 'normal' birthing position) from a few weeks to a few days before delivery. My son turned himself to the head down position about 6 weeks before he was born, which would have been week 34 or 35.

No...breech position doesn't matter at 20 weeks, in fact, I think MOST babies are in that position during that time. Mine was in that position and I delivered normally at 41 weeks (head first). Best of luck with the rest of you pregnancy!

At 20 weeks there is still plenty of time for your baby to turn around. I don't think it is a really big deal at this point.
I had 2 c-sections and they weren't too bad. But I have nothing to compare it too since I never had a natural birth.

my lil boy ( 22 weeks along) was the same way when we went for his 20 week check up lol. But this is normal, explained the doctor. Because it is so early in pregnancy, your little one is still small enough to manuever around and get in the right position. So don't panic!! lol just give it a lil more time and see were he is later on this month. Good luck and Congrats!!

Don't stress. It's not uncommon this early. My niece was breech and my sister's doctor actually flipped her around just by pressing certain spots on my sister's stomach. My sister had a vaginal delivery and my niece wiill be 6 in July!

I wouldn't start worrying until you hit 35 weeks. Until then the baby will change positions often.
