All you have to do is break up 64 into smaller and smaller parts. Making a binary tree helps, continuously splitting up prime factors of 64 until you cannot do it any further.

64 = 2 x 32
64 = 2 x 2 x 16
64 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 8
64 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 4
64 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2

Your prime factorization is 2^6
