It might be the oxygen sensor I am not sure . Do you have any idea of what should be changed , and the cost ? This is a 94 jeep cherokee .

Do a complete tuneup and filter change. If the O2 sensor has not been changed, change it also. If that doesn't work you may need a a new cat. After market cats are not that expensive

Have a diagnostic test done on your Jeep. It will tell you what needs replaced. Call first to ask about the cost of this test.

Make sure you have a good running vehicle, by that I mean that the spark plugs and wires and cap are in good condition. Make sure the air filter is not clogged.

To reduce c/o switch off engine. Simple.

i thought that they could not check anything under a 97.
