Full disclosure:
I'm resolving this year to stop visiting online gossip websites because I don't think they're good for me, nor a good use of my time.

I'm actually not against porn, for adults. All things in moderation, right?

I do think that repetitive, obsessive, and addictive viewing of porn can lead toward having a view of people as having less or no value. That's different than the casual viewer of porn, of course.

Nice mix of answers. I think I'll put this one up for a vote. Good luck.

Interesting question. It makes us waste our time on irrelevancies and maybe makes us more callous towards people we haven't even met. I don't know that it makes us devalue people from day to day but it does seem to envcourage the belief that we have a right to know everyone else's private business and perhaps even makes us more insensitive to their needs and problems. This can spill into the way you treat everyone.

I would say it SHOWS that we don't value people, I don't see how it causes it. This strikes me as an agenda disguised as a question I must say though. The way people point to books, TV, movies, video games, etc that they find distasteful and so they try to connect the dots to get the answer they want.

Take the "Porn" sneak-in. NO STUDY has shown that "pornographic" material in of itself has any negative effect on people. Blame twisted Abrahamic-religion sex hatred for that...

And what IS porn? Lots of people will tell you not wearing a burka is pornographic. Best keep matters of taste to ourselves.

Celebrities are a waste of good LIFE. If the media would stop throwing them in our face most INTELLIGENT people would not seek them out. Only morons want to be like them because their own life sucks so bad they fantasize.

Gossipping makes others look low and supposedly makes you feel higher than them. But gossip and porn are both sinful because people are supposed to be loving and neither are catalyst for loving others its just demeaning.
