Just don't do anything--leave them alone and the milk will dry up. Breast and nipple stimulation cause more milk to be produced so if you do nothing the milk will stop being produced. Use cool clothes or even frozen cabbage leaves in your bra to soothe them but don't express any milk.

Honey, whatever you do, (first of all), is dont beat yourself up for your decision, or any of these Numbskulls on this site, either for this matter.... You gave this child LIFE, and thats the main thing!!! And that's a Good thing!!! As far as your milk, if you cant get the doctor to give you one of those shots, which usually they dont, after you've already left the hospitol.. Using a pump will relieve some of the pressure, but unfortunately it also causes our breasts to continue making milk........ So, I just wouldn't do it, but a little bit... To relieve some of the discomfort!! I nursed my last 3 kids until they were 10 months, 11 months, and 1 year!! I know YIKES!!! But, their all very healthy for it, and it helped build their Ammune Systems up!! But, I felt that when they were ready to wean , I'd quit, and around those times, is when they started taking bottles too, and so one day I just started slowly nursing less & less, until I just put the bottle in front of them whenever they'd pound on my chest to nurse, and all of them did rather well with that one!! Thank-God!!! For you the more you Pump and stimulate the breasts the longer it will take to dry it out!! Unfortunately, you may have to go through a bit of discomfort for about 1 week... Just try not to ly on your stomache at nights, for about a week, to help not add, any additional discomfort, you know what I mean... And hey, dont let anyone on this site beat you up, and if they even give you the slightest hint that , that's where there going, I'd just opt not to read their answer's ,If I were you!!! No one's been in your shoes but you, so Forget them!!! Hey, I hope you feel better realy soon, hun! And just go with the punches, and it'll be over in no time!!! Smile!!!

Definitely no pumping! That will make more milk come in. You need to avoid any kind of stimulation to your breast. Not even the water from the shower can hit your breast. Keep a very fitted bra on at all times. At least for 3 weeks. Only take it off to shower. Good Luck.

Don't pump as that will create more milk. Talk to your doctor- there is a medicine you can take to dry up the breasts. Best of luck to you!

No, don't pump... the more you excrete, the more you produce. It will likely be painful but you have to let them dry up. If they get really sore, have a hot shower and rub them down a bit, the hot water will reduce some of the pain and swelling. Good Luck

no do not pump, that will only increase the production of milk, making it even more uncomfortable for you , start taking B-6 vitamins that will help to stop the production, also birth control pills will stop the production, or you can wait it out and it will dry up on its own, till then just wear breast pads to help with embarssing leakage and good luck
